Against a backdrop of expanding industrial and agro-industrial infrastructure in Paraguay, engineer Diego Bentel, director of Implenia Constructora, analyzes the company’s recent performance and the outlook for a sector marked by the dynamism of agro-industry, maquila, and investments in processing plants.
The company’s director discusses the trends driving new large-scale projects, Implenia’s role in strengthening logistics and industrial infrastructure, and the incorporation of technologies such as BIM, prefabricated elements, modular systems, and Lean Construction methodologies.
He also details the main challenges facing the sector, such as the demand for scalable infrastructure, operational safety, and sustainability, and explains how the company, part of the TOCSA Group, is focusing its strategy on resilient design, comprehensive planning, and quality as pillars to support Paraguay’s industrial and agro-industrial growth.
How does Implenia assess the company’s performance in 2025 and what are the expectations for 2026 in the industrial and agro-industrial sector?
2025 was a year of consolidation for Implenia, with sustained growth in industrial and agro-industrial projects. The dynamism of the agro-industry and maquila sectors drove investment in processing plants and production expansions, generating opportunities for specialized infrastructure. By 2026, our focus will be on supporting this trend with efficient, safe construction solutions that are aligned with international standards, strengthening the country’s competitiveness. We have completed more than 48 projects since our foundation, with more than 254,000 m² built in industrial, corporate, and commercial projects. Part of the TOCSA Group, with more than 38 years of experience.
What trends will shape the year in agribusiness and maquila, and how did they translate into relevant projects for the company?
The macroeconomic context in 2025 was very favorable, with large landings and expansions in the meat and maquila industries. This movement is generating large-scale projects that require robust and specialized infrastructure. For Implenia, this means participating in projects that accompany the country’s productive transformation, providing reliable and efficient solutions that become strategic assets for our clients.
How is Implenia contributing to the strengthening of industrial and logistics infrastructure in Paraguay?
Paraguay is undergoing a period of logistical and industrial expansion that requires reliable and efficient infrastructure. Implenia is contributing by strengthening processing plants, collection centers, and cold storage facilities with construction solutions that prioritize safety, quality, and scalability. We are committed to ensuring that each project becomes a strategic asset for the country’s competitiveness. We build infrastructure that supports industrial growth: safe, efficient, and ready for the future.
What technologies, methodologies, and standards is Implenia incorporating to ensure efficiency, safety, and competitiveness in industrial projects?
Innovation is central to our approach. Implenia not only incorporates global technologies and methodologies, but also advanced construction processes, such as the use of prefabricated and modular systems, which optimize deadlines and reduce waste. We also implement BIM for coordination and control, and Lean Construction for efficiency at every stage. Everything is geared towards ensuring quality, safety, and productivity in industrial and agro-industrial projects.
What are the main challenges facing the sector and how is Implenia preparing to address them in the short and medium term?
One of the main challenges facing the industrial and agro-industrial sector is having infrastructure that is ready for growth in an environment where demand is evolving rapidly and logistical conditions are demanding. It is also key to ensure operational safety and sustainability in every project. Implenia prepares itself with comprehensive planning, resilient design, and a culture of quality and safety, so that every project is a reliable solution in the short and medium term. The challenges are great, but our response focuses on resilient design, quality, and safety, following strict control processes under local and international standards.
