The objective of the project is to ensure the functionality and control of the country’s migratory and customs systems. To achieve this, a functional analysis of the administrative blocks is carried out in coordination with representatives from the institutions that form part of this border center. In terms of tourist transit control, the area is divided into two blocks: one for entry and one for exit, both housed under a single roof designed to mimic the shade of trees, in an effort to reduce the visual impact of the structure. The institutions involved in this sector, in order of management, include: the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPBS), the National Directorate of Migration (DNM), the National Secretariat of Tourism (SENATUR), the National Directorate of Transit (DNT), the National Directorate of Customs (DNA), SENAVE, the National Secretariat for Animal Health Control (SENACSA), and the Tourism Police. For the cargo transit area, control is distributed across independent checkpoints, each equipped with offices of the National Directorate of Customs (DNA), the National Directorate of Migration (DNM), and the National Navigation and Ports Administration (ANNP).
